All Saints Sunday at Saron, November 5 For Lutherans, All Saints resonates with the conviction that in Christ every saint is a sinner and every sinner a saint, simul justus et peccator. Lutherans especially remember on this feast that it is God’s grace, apart from our works, that makes us saints. We find lasting rest only in the mercy of God. –From Living Lutheran by Benjamin Stewart LTSC
Thus, on All Saints Sunday we call to mind those people dear to us who have died in the last few years. We include them in our prayers and name them in our bulletin. We recall Paul in Romans 8, “Neither life nor death can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Do you have loved ones or friends who have died in 2022 or 2023 you would like to have remembered? Please give their names to Pastor Jeanne by November 1. We will include them in the bulletin and prayers on All Saints Sunday, November 5.
